MOOCs and Open Education is an interesting and promising new book about massive open online courses and open educational resources (OER). Distance learning technology has quickly advanced in terms of interactivity and the capability to reach students all over the world since the emergence of the Internet. The transformative technological impact of the Internet allows types of communication and interaction which are essential for digital educational technology. There are not too many trends in digital education technology over the past half-century that can match the sudden arrival of MOOC classes. It is no longer possible to cover these massive open online courses with one definition because there are many different categories of MOOC courses. Some MOOC classes are based on recorded video group discussions plus facilitated interaction or discussion forums. Some MOOC courses are in response to decades-long increases in the demand for edification and digital learning. These massively open online courses are undoubtedly becoming a relevant catalyst for innovations in technology-enhanced learning.

MOOCs and Open Education researches opportunities in online learning online learning services, virtual learning activities and digital learning materials which are growing rapidly.
